Blast reported at Fatehgarh Churian police post in Punjab

Chandigarh: A blast was reported at the Fatehgarh Churian police post near the Amritsar bypass. According to preliminary information, no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

Authorities have not yet issued a statement, and no terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for the explosion.

Punjab has witnessed multiple blasts in recent months, mainly targeting police stations and outposts:

November 24: RDX was planted outside Ajnala police station but did not detonate. Happy Passian claimed responsibility, and two suspects were arrested. Hand grenades were also recovered.

November 27: A grenade exploded at a police outpost in Gurbaksh Nagar. The attack targeted a closed outpost.

December 2: A grenade exploded at Kathgarh police station in SBS Nagar. Three suspected terrorists were arrested, and weapons were recovered.

December 4: A grenade blast at Majitha police station was initially dismissed by police as a tyre burst. Former MLA Bikram Majithia, however, claimed it was a terrorist attack.

December 13: A grenade exploded at Aliwal-Batala police station. Happy Passian and an accomplice claimed responsibility.

December 17: A grenade exploded at Islamabad police station. While local police initially denied it was an attack, Punjab DGP later confirmed it as a terrorist incident.

December 19: Terrorists targeted a closed police post in Bakshiwala, Gurdaspur, near the Indo-Pak border, throwing a grenade at a seized auto.

December 21: A blast occurred at Banga Wadala village police post in Gurdaspur’s Kalanaur area. Babbar Khalsa International claimed responsibility.

January 19: A bomb exploded at Amritsar’s Gumtala checkpoint, with Babbar Khalsa International taking responsibility.

Authorities are investigating the latest blast at Fatehgarh Churian, as concerns grow over the recent wave of attacks in Punjab.
