Priyanka Gandhi says Delhi voted for change, calls for accountability
New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said on Saturday that the people of Delhi voted for change as they were frustrated with the current situation.
Speaking to reporters during her visit to Kerala, the Wayanad MP said that public sentiment was evident during party meetings ahead of the elections.
“My congratulations to all those who won. The results mean we must work harder and be accountable to the people’s issues,” she said.
According to the latest Election Commission of India (ECI) trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in 45 out of 70 assembly seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was ahead in 21. As per the ECI website, both BJP and AAP have secured two seats each so far.
Meanwhile, the Congress appears set to remain without a single seat for the third consecutive Delhi Assembly election.
