Bail hearing of four Indians accused in Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder adjourned till April

Toronto: The bail hearing of four Indian nationals accused in the 2023 murder of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada was held on February 11.

The Canadian court has adjourned the hearing against the accused – Amandeep Singh, Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh, and Karanpreet Singh – until April.

Earlier reports claimed that the four accused were released on bail, but Canadian media outlet CBC News refuted these claims.

CBC News reported that several Indian news outlets falsely stated that the accused were released after the case was dismissed. Ann Seymour of the BC Prosecution Service confirmed to CBC News that none of the accused had been granted bail.

The next court appearance was scheduled for February 11 through a pretrial conference, and the accused were expected to appear in court on February 12. However, the hearing was postponed to April.
