Former Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh calls SGPC president’s resignation “painful”

Amritsar: Former Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh described the resignation of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami as “painful.”

In a social media post, he accused the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) of undermining Panthic institutions to protect the political interests of certain leaders who, he claimed, were ignorant of Panthic traditions and maryada.

Giani Harpreet Singh alleged that individuals representing Panthic ideology were either being pressured to resign or subjected to harassment.

He expressed his concerns about the state of Panthic institutions and prayed to Akal Purakh for their protection.
