DC issues notices to 271 travel agents for not renewing licenses
Jalandhar News: To curb human trafficking, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has issued notices to 271 travel agents in the district. These notices have been served to those agents who have not renewed their licenses even after their expiration.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner has instructed all SDMs in the district to inspect documents at the offices of travel agents and immigration consultants within their jurisdiction. This measure aims to prevent unauthorized travel agents from defrauding people under the pretense of sending them abroad.
Dr. Aggarwal also directed the police department to ensure that whenever a case is registered against any travel agent in the district, the Deputy Commissioner’s office is immediately informed.
The Deputy Commissioner has urged all travel agents in the district to properly maintain their office records and refrain from operating with incomplete documents. He warned that strict action will be taken against unauthorized travel agents operating illegally.
Furthermore, Dr. Aggarwal appealed to those aspiring to go abroad to always choose legal immigration routes. He advised them to contact only registered immigration consultants, whose list is available on the websites www.jalandhar.nic.in and www.emigrate.gov.in. For more information, individuals can contact the Protector General of Emigrants helpline at 95306-41790 or email [email protected].
