BSF deploys additional forces along Indo-Pak border in Punjab, Jammu

New Delhi: The Border Security Force (BSF) has mobilized additional personnel at posts along the Indo-Pak border in Punjab and Jammu to bolster the anti-infiltration grid and curb the smuggling of arms and narcotics via drones.

Sources told PTI that the BSF’s Western Command, based in Chandigarh, has ordered the establishment of nine “strategic” headquarters in these areas. These headquarters will receive intelligence and operational resources under the supervision of a newly created control room.

A “tech headquarters” serves as a forward base near the border post, ahead of the battalion base. According to sources, each of these headquarters will include a senior commander from all verticals and the commanding officer (CO) of the battalion deployed at vulnerable border posts.

Additionally, security forces have been instructed to mobilize maximum manpower by relocating border security units from battalion headquarters to these areas.
