Australia set India a target of 265 in Champions Trophy semi-final

Dubai: Australia were bowled out for 264 in 49.3 overs against India in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Stadium. After winning the toss, Australia opted to bat first.

Captain Steve Smith top-scored with 73 off 96 balls, while Alex Carey contributed 61 runs and Travis Head added 39.

For India, Mohammed Shami took three wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja and Varun Chakravarthy claimed two each. Hardik Pandya dismissed Adam Zampa (7) in the final over to wrap up Australia’s innings.

Shami secured his third wicket in the 49th over, dismissing Nathan Ellis, who was caught by Virat Kohli. India now need 265 runs to secure a place in the final.
