Chandigarh police seal borders, issue traffic advisory ahead of farmers’ dharna

Chandigarh: Following a heated argument between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and farmer organization leaders, farmers have announced a permanent dharna in Chandigarh starting March 5.

In response, the Chandigarh administration has intensified efforts to prevent their entry by sealing borders with Punjab and issuing a traffic advisory.

According to the advisory from Chandigarh Police, several barriers have been set up, including at Zirakpur, Fadan, and sector-dividing roads such as 48/49, 49/50, 50/51 (Jail Road), 51/52 (Matore barrier), 52/53 (Kajheri Chowk), 53/54 (Furniture Market), 54/55 (Badheri barrier), 55/56P, and New Gaon barrier.
