Earlier, Australia opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted 264 runs. Steve Smith (73) and Alex Carey (61) scored half-centuries, while Travis Head contributed 39 and Marnus Labuschagne added 29.
For India, Mohammed Shami took three wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy and Ravindra Jadeja claimed two each.
India successfully chased down the target of 265, securing their spot in the final.
