Punjab government transfers 235 revenue officers amid strike

Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Wednesday ordered the transfer of 177 Naib Tehsildars and 58 Tehsildars amid an ongoing strike by revenue officials across the state.

This marks the second major action taken by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann against the striking officers.

A day earlier, the government had suspended 15 Tehsildars for participating in the strike.

The Chief Minister had earlier warned revenue officials to resume work or face strict action.
