Akal Takht Jathedar urges Sikh community to maintain decorum during Hola Mohalla
Amritsar: Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, on Tuesday urged the Sikh community to maintain discipline during the festival of Hola Mohalla at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib. He also appealed to the younger generation attending the event to wear turbans.
In his first message, issued via video, he highlighted that millions of Sikh devotees participate in the festival, which holds significant religious and cultural importance. He cautioned against any disruptive behavior, citing past incidents that have raised concerns.
“No youth or attendee should create any disturbance, as it undermines the sanctity of this national festival,” he said.
He said that the Khalsa Panth gathers as one during this occasion and urged every youth, regardless of whether they keep unshorn hair, to wear a turban and seek Gursikhi guidance from the event.
