Three killed in road accident at Chandigarh-Zirakpur barrier

Chandigarh: Three people, including a police constable and a home guard volunteer, were killed in a road accident at the Chandigarh-Zirakpur barrier around 2:30 am on Thursday, police said.

Constable Sukhdarshan and volunteer Rajesh were conducting routine vehicle checks when a speeding Polo car from Zirakpur hit them. The impact was severe, crushing one of the victims’ legs. All three died on the spot.

Following the incident, police teams and fire tenders rushed to the scene. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation is underway.
