Clashes erupt on Holi, Friday prayers in Punjab’s Ludhiana

Ludhiana: Two groups clashed in Ludhiana’s Mian Market on the day of Holi and Friday prayers, leading to stone pelting and vandalism. Bricks, stones, and bottles were thrown from both sides, injuring four to five people.

Senior police officials rushed to the scene, with personnel from multiple police stations, including the CIA, deployed to control the situation.

Members of a particular community alleged that miscreants began pelting stones while they were offering namaz. Several vehicles were also vandalized during the clashes, and demands were raised for action against the accused.

Videos circulating online show stone pelting and damage to the mosque’s windows. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m.
