BJP leader shot dead over land dispute in Haryana

Chandigarh: BJP leader Surinder Kumar was shot dead by a neighbor near his house in his native village in Tohana, Haryana, police said. The incident, linked to a land dispute, occurred on the night of Holi.

According to officials, Kumar was on his way home when the assailant fired two bullets at him. Injured, he sought refuge in a nearby shop, but the attacker followed him inside and shot him in the head. He died on the spot, while the accused fled.

The violent attack was captured on CCTV cameras. Police reached the scene, conducted a panchnama, and sent the body to Khanpur Medical College for postmortem.

Three teams have been formed to apprehend the killer, and one person has been taken into custody as the investigation continues.
