MCD to meet on January 24 for mayoral polls, LG approves government’s proposal
New Delhi: There is a fierce tussle between the Aam Aadmi Party and LG Vinai Kumar Saxena in Delhi at this time. Meanwhile, news is coming that LG has approved the proposal of the Delhi government.
This also cleared the way for the mayoral election. Now the MCD meeting for the mayoral election will be held on January 24. Earlier today, the proceedings of the Delhi Assembly session were adjourned after the ruckus between AAP and BJP.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the Lieutenant Governor has called the CM and deputy CM to meet, “but we want to meet with all the MLAs”.
This invitation of the Lieutenant Governor is not acceptable to us. Aam Aadmi Party MLAs led by CM Kejriwal took out a march to LG House after the house was adjourned. During this, all the MLAs, including Kejriwal, were seen holding placards that read, “Mr LG, allow teachers to go to Finland.”
