Teen abducted, killed for ransom in north Delhi; three minors arrested
New Delhi: A 16-year-old boy was abducted and killed for a ransom of Rs 10 lakh in north Delhi’s Wazirabad area, police said on Sunday. Three minors have been arrested in connection with the case.
The Class 9 student was taken to a secluded area near Bhalswa lake, where he was stabbed multiple times, a police official said. The boy’s family later received a ransom call demanding Rs 10 lakh. His body was found soon after.
A missing complaint was filed at the local police station on Monday. During the investigation, CCTV footage showed the boy was last seen with three other boys, aged 16 and 17, on a motorcycle on Jharoda Pusht Road.
The three minors were arrested, and during interrogation, they confessed to abducting the boy for ransom. They told police they had taken him to the forested area near Bhalswa lake, where they stabbed and killed him. The next day, they used his SIM card to call his father, a driver, and demand money.
Police recovered the victim’s body based on information provided by the arrested minors. Sources said the accused had also attempted to dismember the body.
