School infrastructure has been improved to make better future of children during our Government, Says Sandhwan
Punjab Government will spend a large part of the budget on education to improve the quality of Education
Chandigarh/Kotkapura, April 7:
Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today inaugurated development projects worth lakhs of rupees in various schools in his constituency at Kotkapura under the “Punjab Education Revolution” program. In this regard, development projects under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has also been inaugurated in various schools across the state.
On this occasion, Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have the view that in order to make all around development of the country, we should first make the better future of our children. To achieve this dream, the infrastructure of schools has been immensely improved to shape the future of children. He said that it is a matter of great pride that 189 students of Government schools have passed the JEE examination. The construction work of boundary walls of Government schools has been completed upto 98 percent and 1177 watchmen have been recruited for the security of schools. Besides this, 1809 campus managers have been recruited, 6200 new rooms have been constructed, and 4700 classrooms have been renovated so far.
- Sandhwan said that 9000 children from private schools have taken admission in Government schools due to the improved infrastructure of government schools in Punjab. He added that students of Government schools in Punjab have also visited ISRO to see Chandrayaan, which is a matter of great pride. He said that the board result of government schools is 92 percent at present, which will soon be increased to 100 percent. He said that government school teachers have been sent to Singapore and Finland for getting training. Punjab Government has regularised the services of 12316 teachers and has recruited 10487 new teachers. Moreover, he added that 1239 non-teaching staff have also been recruited in schools. Major part of the state budget would be spent on the education sector, he said.
He inaugurated the development project of Dr. Hari Singh Sewak School of Eminence where about Rs 60 lakhs was spent. He also inaugurated new rooms and a ramp of Government Primary School Hira Singh Nagar. He also inaugurated a boundary wall of Government Primary School Kotkapura (Boys) and a washroom for girl students of Government Primary School Prem Nagar Kotkapura.
On this occasion, teachers and students were specially honored who have achieved laurels in various fields. Speaker also announced that he will provide a grant from his discretionary quota for the government school.
Folk singers Harinder Sandhu and Rana Kameana mesmerize the audience with cultural and family songs on this occasion. A cultural program was also presented by the school students. The Speaker gave prize money worth Rs. 11,000 each to the children who presented the cultural program.
