Cabinet Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO addressed a district-level function dedicated to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 134th birth anniversary at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar on April 14, 2025. The minister emphasized Dr. Ambedkar’s views on education, quoting him as saying, “Education is the milk of a lioness, whoever drinks it will roar.”

The Cabinet Minister paid tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait and congratulated him on his birth anniversary, acknowledging his tireless efforts in laying the foundation of an inclusive and progressive India.

Mr. ETO highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s emphasis on education as a means to improve the welfare of oppressed and backward classes, leading to the establishment of many educational institutions.

The minister praised Dr. Ambedkar as a main architect of the Constitution, a revolutionary thinker, social reformer, and champion of equality, who fought for the rights of the marginalized and worked towards creating a more inclusive society.

,He said that  Dr. Ambedkar’s efforts to eliminate caste-based discrimination, promote social equality, and introduce reforms like the Hindu Code Bill and maternity benefits were acknowledged.

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Shakshi Sawhney enlightened students about Dr. Ambedkar’s life and history, urging them to follow in his footsteps. Mayor S. Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar’s life inspires working towards a future where every citizen stands equal.

The event was attended by prominent officials, including Mayor Municipal Corporation S. Jatinder Singh Moti Bhatia, Deputy Commissioner Smt. Sakshi Sawhney, SDM S. Khushpreet Singh, Registrar S. Karanjit Singh Chahal, DCP Mr. Alam Vijay Singh, Madam Suhinder Kaur, Professor Kuljit Kaur, and Dr. Vikram Sandhu, along with a large number of students and people.
