BJP leaders put up ‘missing’ posters of MP Charanjit Singh Channi in Jalandhar
Jalandhar: BJP leaders in Punjab’s Jalandhar have put up posters across the city declaring former Chief Minister and sitting MP Charanjit Singh Channi as “missing.”
The posters have appeared in various streets, neighbourhoods, and markets, accusing Channi of disappearing from public view after winning the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Party leaders claimed that Channi had made several promises regarding development in Jalandhar during the campaign but has not been seen in the constituency since his victory.
“After winning, he hasn’t returned to the city. People don’t know whom to approach with their problems, so we’ve taken this step to highlight the issue,” a BJP leader said.
Charanjit Singh Channi had secured a decisive win from the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat as a Congress candidate, but BJP leaders allege that he has failed to engage with the public or fulfil his electoral promises.
