SGPC urges Supreme Court to decide on Rajoana’s plea; announces 4% DA for employees

Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has urged the Supreme Court to direct the Centre to take an immediate decision on Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana’s plea seeking remission of his death sentence.

Meanwhile, the issue of appointment, retirement, and preparation of modalities for the jathedars of the Takhts is likely to be delayed for the time being.

The SGPC has also announced a 4 per cent dearness allowance for its employees. The decisions were taken during a meeting of the inter-faith committee held earlier today.

SGPC president Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami later disclosed the developments.
