Massive fire breaks out at straw storage site in Talwandi Sabho

Chandigarh: A massive fire broke out in bales of straw stored across around 10 acres of land for an ethanol bio-plant near Natheha village in Talwandi Sabho late this evening. The fire quickly took a devastating form and was still out of control at the time of filing this report.

According to information, the straw reserve, located near the village bus stand and petrol pump, suddenly caught fire in the evening. Within a short time, the flames spread rapidly.

As soon as the fire was detected, large numbers of residents from Natheha, Lehri, Nangala, and nearby villages rushed to control it. However, the blaze remained beyond their control, posing a threat to the village and a nearby petrol pump.

Police Station Talwandi Sabo chief Parbat Singh reached the spot with his team. He said that firefighting vehicles and staff from Talwandi Sabo, Sardulgarh, and other nearby cities had also arrived and efforts were ongoing to control the fire.

The exact cause of the fire had not been determined at the time of writing.
