Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 4 wickets, climb to second spot in IPL standings
New Delhi: Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by four wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match here today. Chasing a target of 191, Punjab Kings reached 194 for six in 19.4 overs, securing their sixth win of the season.
Captain Shreyas Iyer led from the front with a 41-ball 72, hitting five fours and four sixes. He was well supported by Prabhsimran Singh, who scored 54 off 36 deliveries, including five boundaries and three sixes. Priyansh Arya and Shashank Singh also contributed with 23 runs each.
For Chennai, Khaleel Ahmed and Matheesha Pathirana took two wickets apiece, while Ravindra Jadeja and Noor Ahmed claimed one each.
Earlier, Chennai Super Kings were bowled out for 190 in 19.2 overs, with Yuzvendra Chahal claiming a hat-trick and finishing with figures of 4 for 32. His effort played a key role in restricting Chennai to a below-par total.
With this win, Punjab Kings moved up to second place in the IPL points table with 13 points from 10 matches.
