Diljit Dosanjh showcases royal Punjabi heritage at Met Gala 2025

New York: Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh turned heads at the Met Gala 2025 as he walked the blue carpet in a regal white ensemble inspired by the Maharaja of Patiala. The event, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, featured Diljit in an ivory and gold sherwani designed by American-Nepalese fashion designer Prabal Gurung. Gurung had previously designed Met Gala outfits for Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt.

Diljit’s attire paid homage to traditional Sikh wear. He paired the sherwani with a tehmat, a turban studded with jewels and adorned with a white Kalgi. Completing the royal look, he carried a sword encrusted with gemstones, its handle carved in the shape of a lion’s head.

A standout feature of his outfit was a cape embroidered with Gurmukhi letters and a map of Punjab. His team shared a series of videos on Instagram, showing the singer descending a hotel staircase on his way to the gala, drawing admiration from fans worldwide.
