Passenger offloaded from Air India flight at Bengaluru airport amid nationwide security alert

New Delhi: A passenger was offloaded from an Air India flight at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru on Wednesday evening, amid heightened security across the country.

According to airport sources, the individual was travelling on Air India’s Bengaluru to New Delhi flight AI-2820. The passenger was removed from the aircraft before its scheduled departure at 6:05 pm, citing security reasons. The identity of the passenger has not been disclosed.

Confirming the incident, an Air India official told news agency, “We are aware of the entire incident but will not share details about it. There will be a reason to disembark the passenger from the plane. This is not usually the case. There are some reasons we can’t tell.”

The offloading took place as security agencies remain on high alert nationwide, though further details regarding the nature of the threat or the passenger’s background were not made public.
