PM Modi holds high-level meeting after India, Pakistan agree to ceasefire

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with top government officials on Saturday after India and Pakistan announced an agreement to halt all military operations across land, air, and sea.

The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, “The Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan have agreed to stop all firing and military operations on land, air and sea from 5 pm on Saturday.”

The announcement came shortly after US President Donald Trump issued a statement on the India-Pakistan situation.
