Over 100 flights cancelled amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan

New Delhi: Around 100 flights to and from Delhi airport were cancelled on Sunday as security was stepped up following rising tensions between India and Pakistan. At least 32 airports across northern and western India were temporarily closed in response to the situation.

Officials said that 52 incoming and 44 outgoing domestic flights were cancelled, along with one international flight.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a post on X, “Delhi Airport is functioning normally. However, due to changes in airspace dynamics and increased security, many flights have been affected.”

India and Pakistan had previously signed an agreement to halt firing and military operations along their borders, but recent developments have prompted authorities to take precautionary measures.
