US President Trump doubts Ukraine ceasefire, urges talks with Russia in Turkey

Washington: US President Donald Trump on Sunday expressed doubts over the possibility of Ukraine reaching a ceasefire agreement with Russia. He called on Ukraine to hold talks with Russian officials in Turkey on Thursday.

“I’m beginning to suspect that Ukraine will make a deal with Vladimir Putin,” Trump wrote on social media.

He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not appear interested in a ceasefire but is willing to engage in talks in Turkey to explore a potential end to the ongoing conflict.

Trump had previously played a role in brokering dialogue between the two nations during his time in office.
