Farmer leader murdered by son over land dispute in Talwandi Sabo

Chandigarh: Farmer leader Davinder Singh Sran, who had contested the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections from Talwandi Sabo constituency, was allegedly murdered by his son in a domestic land dispute, police said.

According to officials, Sran was seriously injured on May 10 after being attacked by his son, Amaninder Singh, and two of his accomplices. He succumbed to his injuries earlier today.

Based on the statement of his wife, Sukhwinder Kaur, a resident of Gurusar Jaga, the Talwandi Sabo police have registered a murder case against Amaninder and his associates.

A search operation is underway to trace the accused.
