Akal Takht-constituted committee launches portal to connect diaspora with Akali Dal

Amritsar: The committee formed by Sri Akal Takht Sahib for recruitment in the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has launched an online drive aimed at connecting Punjabis living abroad and in other Indian states with the party. The recruitment process is expected to conclude by June 18.

Members of the recruitment committee—Manpreet Iyali, Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Iqbal Singh Jhundan, Santa Singh Umaidpuri, and Bibi Satwant Kaur—unveiled an online portal, www.akalidalbharti.com, during a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club on Sunday.

Speaking to the media, the committee members said the portal would allow people living abroad to formally associate with the party and participate in its organisational structure.

The committee also appealed for Panthic unity under the leadership of Akali Dal. Originally formed with seven members, the panel has since seen two resignations.
