Viral video shows BJP leader in objectionable position on Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

Mumbai: A video purportedly showing a man in an objectionable position with a woman inside a car on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has gone viral, prompting sharp reactions and political distancing. The man has been identified as Manohar Lal Dhakad, national secretary of the Dhakad Mahasabha, which is registered in Ujjain.

The General Assembly of the Mahasabha has issued a statement announcing Dhakad’s dismissal from his post following the controversy. The video, reportedly from May 13, shows a white Baleno car parked on the expressway. According to transport department records, the vehicle is registered in Dhakad’s name.

The footage, captured by a high-security surveillance camera, allegedly shows Dhakad in an inebriated state with a woman. Efforts to contact him for a response were unsuccessful.

While Dhakad’s wife, Sohan Bai, is a BJP-backed member of the Zila Panchayat representing ward number 8 of Mandsaur district, the BJP has denied any formal connection with him.

“Dhakad is from village Bani, but he is not a primary member of the BJP. His wife is a district panchayat member. It is not known whether Manohar Lal has joined the party online or not,” said Rajesh Dixit, BJP’s Mandsaur district president, speaking to media.
