RBI hikes repo rate by 0.25%
New Delhi: The reserve bank of India’s (RBI monetary policy) final credit policy decisions for the financial year 2022-23 have been announced today. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has given information about the results of the MPC meeting from 10 am. In this, the repo rate has been announced and they have increased the rates of loans given to banks by 0.25 percent.
Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das has announced today that the MPC has increased the repo rate by 0.25 percent. After this, the repo rate in the country has increased to 6.50 percent, which was earlier 6.25 percent.
Four out of six members of the MPC voted in its favour. This is the sixth consecutive time that the RBI has increased the credit policy. In this way, by increasing the rates 6 times in a row, the RBI has increased the repo rate by a total of 2.50 percent and it has come down to 6.50 percent.
