Supreme Court dismisses plea seeking complete ban on BBC in India
New Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition seeking a complete ban on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in India. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and M M Sundresh passed the order while hearing a petition filed by Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta and farmer Birender Kumar Singh. “The petition is completely based on wrong perception.
It has accordingly been dismissed. The petition accused the BBC of bias against India and the Government of India, saying that the BBC documentary film on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the result of a deep-rooted conspiracy against the global rise of India and its Prime Minister.”
