Gen Z & Gen Alpha across country have taken charge to address their problems from roots: Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, while extending Independence Day greetings to the people of the country, lauded the courage of Gen Z and Gen Alpha for questioning the government and raising their voices for their rights. He said the two generations had made the 80th year of Independence special by refusing to remain silent.
The AAP Chief said that after Gen Z, Gen Alpha had now taken up the fight, with children across the country demanding basic facilities in their schools, including desks, clean drinking water, toilets and teachers. He asserted, “Our children have now learnt to fight for their rights. That is what true freedom is.”
In a video message, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “After Gen Z, Gen Alpha has now started raising its voice. Reports are coming in from across the country that young children are fighting to get their schools fixed and taking to the streets. In Hamirpur, children have started protesting to get the road in front of their school constructed. In Dehradun, children are fighting for their rights. In Barmer, children are demanding teachers and are putting up a struggle for it. This is a very good thing.”
Highlighting the condition of government schools, the AAP Chief stated, “Even after around 80 years of Independence, the condition of government schools remains extremely poor. Children from poor families attend government schools because they cannot afford private education. Government schools are in a dilapidated condition, walls are crumbling and roofs are collapsing. When it rains, classrooms get flooded.”
“There are no toilets, no drinking water and no teachers in schools. There is no education being imparted and the children are left with no future. We have accepted that government schools are simply supposed to be like this, but that is not how it should be. If we do not raise our voices, how will things change,” he added.
Citing the work done by Aam Aadmi Party governments, Arvind Kejriwal emphasised, “When the Aam Aadmi Party formed government in Delhi, we transformed the government schools there. Now that we have a government in Punjab, we have transformed the schools there as well. Go and see the government schools in Delhi and Punjab.”
He asserted, “Their students are now appearing for NEET and JEE and becoming engineers and doctors. All of us will have to raise our voices for our rights and put up a struggle together. Only then will the system change.”
