New Delhi: Newly appointed Congress general secretary and Punjab affairs in-charge Sachin Pilot has taken charge of his new responsibility after meeting party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Delhi.
Pilot said senior Punjab Congress leaders had assured him that they would work together under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge.
He said he had already held discussions with several senior leaders in the state. Former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi also assured him of full cooperation in shaping the party’s future roadmap and strengthening its organisation in the state.
Pilot said the Congress would move ahead in Punjab with a focused strategy.
‘Bring all leaders on one platform’
Speaking to a media organisation after his meeting with Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday, Pilot said his immediate priority was to strengthen the party organisation from the grassroots level upwards and bring all senior leaders onto one platform.
He said the party’s leaders and workers in Punjab were united and would work together to raise issues concerning the people of the state.
