Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Crime Branch has arrested a man for his alleged involvement in the murder of Punjabi social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu in Amritsar earlier this month, officials said.
The accused has been identified as Parminder Kaka, also known as Parminder Prasad. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ajit Rajian said the accused was allegedly associated with the Goldy Dhillon gang and was the shooter in the attack.
“His role was that of the shooter. He fired at the influencer and also arranged the motorcycle,” Rajian said.
Sandhu was shot dead on October 3 in the Loharka Road area of Amritsar. According to police, two unidentified men riding a motorcycle opened fire on the influencer.
Rajian said further details about the arrest and the ongoing investigation would be shared at a press conference.
Sandhu was known for his social media presence and work as a makeup artist. The influencer had also appeared on podcasts and digital platforms, where discussions about makeup artistry and gender-related issues brought wider attention to his work.
