Mansa: Mansa police have arrested Neelam Rani, the wife of the main accused, Ashwini Kumar, in connection with the killing of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhotta, police said on Thursday.

The arrest comes after police apprehended Ashwini Kumar and Vipin Garg, who is accused of assisting him. Both men were subsequently remanded in police custody by a court.

Mansa senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vaibhav Chaudhary said late Thursday that three accused had been arrested in the case. He identified Ladi, a resident of Khara village in Barnala district, as the fourth accused who remains at large.

According to the SSP, Neelam Rani was arrested for her alleged role in assisting her husband. He added that police expected to apprehend the remaining suspect soon.

The investigation into Jhotta’s killing is ongoing, and the allegations against the accused will be subject to the legal process.
