Sidhu Moose Wala’s father suspends remaining hologram tour shows after Jhotta’s murder

Mansa: Balkaur Singh, father of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, has announced the postponement of the remaining shows of the singer’s “Signed to God” hologram tour in Canada and the US following the killing of anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhotta in Mansa.

In a social media post, Balkaur Singh said the decision was taken in view of the tense situation in Punjab and the ongoing protests demanding justice for Jhotta. “Punjab comes first for us,” he said, emphasising that Mansa and the entire state remained his top priority.

Apologising to fans in Calgary and the US, Balkaur Singh said he would not be able to meet them on this occasion but promised to return soon with an improved presentation of Sidhu Moose Wala’s music.

He also thanked fans in Toronto and Vancouver for their overwhelming support. The shows in both cities had already taken place and were sold out, while the remaining performances in Calgary and the US have been put on hold.

Moose Wala, whose real name was Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was shot dead in May 2022 in Punjab’s Mansa district.
