151 journalists receive term insurance of Rs 10 lakh each by MWB, policy will be released soon : Chandra Shekhar Dharani
Government should take initiative to make at least one canal plot available at cheap rates for construction of press building in Panchkula-Dharani
Chandigarh: Provincial President of Media Wellbeing Association (Registered) Chandra Shekhar Dharani said that 151 journalists have been given term insurance of Rs 10 lakh each by MWB. This policy will be released to journalists soon.
Without taking any money from any journalist, it is an important and reliable step to get it done by the organization itself. The journalists associated with the organization who will get the benefit of this insurance will also be provided with Induzal policy and smart card.
The organization will not take even a single rupee from any journalist for this insurance. Dharani told that an amount of one lakh rupees was given to Kumar Ramesh, a journalist from Yamunanagar and Rs. 50, 000 to senior journalist Anil Dutta of Ambala as financial assistance.
Dharani said that the organization is not taking a single penny from any journalist for the insurance of journalists. The organization is bearing this expense. In the program organized in Ambala, the institution has been given Rs 20 lakh to be spent for the welfare of journalists.
He said that in future the organization will continue to provide free insurance for journalists. In Haryana, Chief Minister Manoharlal and his Additional Principal Sector Dr. Amit Agarwal have created an atmosphere full of friendliness and cordiality towards the media. Dr. Amit Agarwal, who is also the Director General of Haryana Public Relations, is getting many schemes implemented by the government for the benefit of the media.
Recently, a memorandum has been given to them demanding that Media Wellbeing Association should take initiative to provide at least one canal plot at cheap rates for construction of Press Bhavan in Panchkula Haryana.
In this memorandum given by Chandra Shekhar Dharani, it has been said that the government should form Haryana Press Accreditation and Press Relation Committees soon and include two members of MWB in it.
Tarun Bhandari, Publicity Advisor in the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, said that MWB is doing such noble and pious work for the welfare and interest of journalists. Many efforts have been made for the welfare of journalists through term insurance and in the past as well. Accidental death insurance of Rs 10 lakh each has been given to about 101 journalists by MWB in Haryana. Bhandari said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal is also working for the welfare of journalists. Haryana has done a proud job of giving pension to the journalists who come under the category of Veteran journalists in Haryana. Chief Minister Manohar Lal constantly thinks and is committed for the betterment of the media.
Chandra Shekhar Dharani said that medical facilities and all tests should be made free to journalists and their families in all government hospitals within Haryana and for this identity cards of their families should also be issued to journalists.
The pension of more journalists should be increased to Rs 25, 000 per month. Journalists working in district headquarters should also be given residential facilities at cheap rates on the lines of journalists of the capital. Web portals coming in the criteria after studying the digital (web) policy Special exemption should be given to the journalists of Akra Disha in the rules of Akra Disha. Those digital web portals which have a good hold in Haryana, wherever their headquarters are, journalists should be given a provision of Akra Disha on the lines of print media. – In the pension scheme of journalists By giving exemption, this age limit should be reduced from 60 years to 56 years.
