Ex-Minister Sunder Sham Arora’s bail plea to be heard today: arrested in Rs 50 lakh bribery case

Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court will hear today the bail plea of former Punjab Congress minister Sunder Sham Arora, who is in jail in a bribery case.

During the last hearing in the case, the High Court had reserved the decision on bail after hearing the arguments of both the parties. The high court is likely to grant relief to accused Arora today.
Earlier, during the hearing, the Punjab government had filed a status report of the case on the orders of the High Court.
After this, the case was heard, but the accused could not get relief. Arora had earlier filed a petition in the Mohali district court of Punjab for regular bail, but the court rejected the petition and sent him to judicial custody. Arora had approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking regular bail on November 11.
