Punjab government sends interim report to Union Home Ministry in PM security lapse case

Chandigarh News: The Punjab government has sent an interim report to the Union Home Ministry on the lapses in Prime minister Narendra Modi’s security in the state last year.

The state government in its report has informed the Home Ministry that the report sent by the ministry is being studied, on the basis of which the state government has decided to form a committee of officers for further action, which will investigate the accused.
It will issue notices to nine appointed officers of Punjab seeking their replies. This committee will be empowered to summon officials found guilty. A decision will be taken to take action against them as per rules after the response of the erring officials. According to Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua, the interim report sought by the Ministry of Home Affairs has been sent.
It has given information about the action being taken by the state government. According to the Chief Secretary, the Supreme Court committee had visited the site of the incident in Punjab and prepared the inquiry report. During this time, the committee had also examined the role of the concerned officials. On the basis of this, the officials have been convicted.
