Bajwa calls on all opposition parties to stand firm against draconian stance of BJP

Chandigarh: In protest against the disqualification of former congress president Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha, the Punjab Congress Committee on Sunday held a Satyagraha at Congress Bhawan Chandigarh.

Speaking on the occasion, Punjab’s Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa called on all the opposition political parties in the country to stand firm against such a draconian approach of the BJP-led Union Government.

“If all the opposition political parties failed to get together after the sheer undemocratic stance of the BJP, leaders of other political parties would face similar consequences”, Bajwa added.

Senior Congress Leader from Punjab, Bajwa said that this is the last opportunity for all the opposition parties to stand in solidarity with the Congress and registered a strong protest against the BJP-led Union Government.

The LoP said that there are 542 MPs in the Lok Sabha. As per the election affidavits 160 have been facing heinous crime charges including murder, kidnapping, and ransom yet no action was taken against them. Vengeful action has been taken against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi just because he raises genuine issues inside and outside the parliament and lately put the BJP government in the Centre in docks after the release of the Hindenburg report on the Adani group,

“All the opposition parties in India must leave behind their other political indifference and demonstrate unity at a time when the basic tenets of democracy are at stake. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have the same India after the 2024 elections. Things will change drastically”, Bajwa added.

LoP also thanked the political parties that have so far expressed solidarity with Congress.
