Punjab E News: On the arrest of Amritpal Singh, Punjab Police IG Sukhchain Singh Gill said that warrants were issued against Amritpal under NSA, after which he was arrested by the NSA. “We conducted an operation and arrested Amritpal Singh at 6:45 am.”
He said that during this entire operation, the people of Punjab maintained peace, law and order, for which we thank them. Along with this, the IG appealed to the people of Punjab to maintain peace.
“We had specific information that he was present at a gurdwara in Rode village,” Said Gill, IG Punjab Police. We have arrested him keeping in mind the dignity of Gurdwara Sahib. After arresting him, he has been sent to Dibrugarh in Assam. Amritpal Singh, who was on the run for months, was arrested by the Punjab Police in Moga district today. After that he has been sent to Dibrugarh jail.
Taking strict action against Amritpal, NSA has also been imposed on him. Punjab Police and security agencies were constantly searching for him. Operations were conducted across the country up to the Nepal border to catch Amritpal. At the same time, Punjab Police has tweeted and informed about the arrest of Amritpal Singh.
