Woman shot dead at Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala
Patiala News: A woman was shot dead for consuming liquor near the ‘sarovar’ of Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib, police said.
According to information shared by Patiala SSP Varun Sharma, the incident took place around 9.30 pm on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Parminder Kaur.
SSP Varun Sharma said, “Parminder Kaur was drinking near the sarovar of Gurdwara Dukhniwaran Sahib. Seeing this, the sangat gathered and took her to the manager’s office. Nirmaljit Singh Saini, who was present at the spot, got angry and fired five bullets at him.
According to the information received from the sources, a person named Sagar was also injured in the firing. He was taken to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala for treatment. On the other hand, Parminder Kaur was declared dead.
Nirmaljit Singh, has been arrested and a weapon has also been recovered from him. He is a property dealer by profession. Nirmaljit reportedly has no criminal background, police said.
