Wife, two minors and in-laws burnt alive with petrol
The wife, two children and in-laws were set on fire in Bitalan village on the Jagraon-Jalandhar road.
The deceased have been identified as 28-year-old wife Paramjit Kaur, seven-year-old daughter Arshdeep Kaur, five-year-old son Gurmohal Singh, father-in-law Surjan Singh and mother-in-law Jogindero Bai.
All of them were sprayed with petrol in a locked room and set on fire. The accused locked the room from outside and fled after committing the crime.
It is also learnt that a member of the family, who was badly burnt before he died, narrated the incident.
Victim Paramjit Kaur was married to Kali Singh of Khurshedpura village on the banks of the river near Jalandhar. After marriage, they had two children, but there was often a fight in the house. Disturbed by this, Paramjit Kaur had come her parental home a few days ago.
Her husband Kali Singh came last night. According to the villagers, he had petrol in a box, which he sprinkled on the members of the house and set it on fire. Police have reached the spot and started investigation. The bodies have been sent to Nakodar Hospital.
