Ex-AIG Ashish Kapoor arrested in disproportionate assets case, sent to 3-day police remand
Chandigarh: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case against former AIG Ashish Kapoor and his wife Kamal Kapoor in connection with the disproportionate assets case.
The accused, Ashish Kapoor, was brought on a production warrant from Central Jail Patiala and produced before a Mohali court, from where the Vigilance Bureau got a three-day police remand for further interrogation.
A vigilance spokesman said that after investigation, a case has been registered against the said police officer and his wife. He said that during investigation, it was found that unaccounted expensive immovable property was illegally acquired in Chandigarh and Mohali during the cheque period from 01-08-2017 to 31-08-2022 in the name of Ashish Kapoor and his wife Kamal Kapoor.
