Shock to people before Diwali!

After giving free 300 units of free electricity per month to domestic power consumers, the PSPCL department has decided to increase 12-13 paise per unit tariff rate  across the state.

The file sent to the Punjab government by Powercom to recover the cost, which has been approved by the government.

A circular to implement the increase in rates with immediate effect will be issued soon, sources said.

Different rates are being applied to domestic and industry.

In this, 12 paise per KW of domestic consumer and 13 paise KVKH for industrial to be hiked.

In order to provide uninterrupted supply during the summer season, Powercom had purchased expensive power and coal, due to which the department got expensive electricity than the fixed rates.
