Bathinda: Sacked police constable Amandeep Kaur, who was earlier arrested in a heroin smuggling case, has been taken into custody once again—this time by the Vigilance Bureau in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

According to the Vigilance Bureau, a probe has revealed that Kaur’s total income stands at Rs 1.08 crore, while her expenditure amounts to Rs 1.39 crore. The action was taken following a complaint received by the Vigilance Department.

“The entire matter is being investigated,” said DSP Vigilance Kulwant Singh.

Kaur was recently released on bail in the heroin smuggling case. Following her release, she alleged in an interview to a private news channel that the police had filed a false report against her and claimed that her assets were acquired through legitimate earnings.

In the latest case, the Vigilance Bureau will produce Kaur in court and seek her remand to investigate the source of the alleged disproportionate assets.
