Shimla: The bodies of six people who went missing after a cloudburst and flash floods hit Kangra and Kullu districts in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday have been recovered in Kangra so far, officials said. Search operations are underway to trace two others still missing in the area.

In Kullu district, joint teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, and home guards resumed operations on Thursday morning to locate three people missing after the floods. Officials said these people were likely swept away by the fast-flowing water.

Six bodies have so far been recovered from the flood-affected hydropower project sites in Kangra district. Meanwhile, heavy rains have led to the closure of 53 roads across Himachal Pradesh, causing disruptions in the hill state.
