Amritsar: Acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht, Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, said on Monday that the ongoing conflict between Akal Takht and Takht Sri Patna Sahib has been resolved. Following the resolution, the order issued by the Panj Pyaras of Takht Sri Patna Sahib has been withdrawn.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting with the Five Singh Sahibans, Jathedar Gargaj said that other hukamnamas declaring the Jathedars of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib as ‘tankhaiya’ have also been withdrawn.
In an emergency meeting of the Panj Pyaras held on May 21, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, and Baba Tek Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, were declared ‘tankhaiya’ for allegedly violating the hukamnama of Takht Sri Patna Sahib.
Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal was also named in the matter and was ordered to appear before Takht Sri Patna Sahib.
