Chandigarh: A grandson of a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Ferozepur, Punjab.
The victim was travelling to the main market to pick up his children from school when two attackers approached from behind and shot him in the head. He collapsed at the spot and was declared brought dead at the hospital.
The Khalistani outfit Sher-e-Punjab Brigade has claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post. The group alleged that the killing was linked to the victim’s family association with the RSS and said it would continue its campaign.
A video connected to the incident has surfaced online. Police are investigating the possibility of a targeted killing and said the suspects are being identified through CCTV footage. Authorities added that arrests will be made soon.
